Every month we invite a different local artist to display their work in our dining room, creating an intimate gallery space for our patrons to enjoy. If you are an artist and are interested in utilizing the Great Adirondack Soup Company for your next display, please contact Chris Dominianni at 561-6408 Monday-Friday after 3pm.

About the Artist:
I am a 40 year resident of Plattsburgh. I have been drawing ever since I was a child. My education in art started in High School and continues today with workshops and college classes. I have been fortunate to show my works in various local restaurants, juried and member shows in an around the North Country. My paintings are in private collections all around the US and in Russia and South America.
My daughter, Amy, is also an artist and we very frequently show our works together.
I live on Lake Champlain with my husband, Rich. The lake is a wonderful inspiration to get out my paints and start a new project.
I work as a Real Estate Broker. I enjoy meeting and working with new clients. My work slogan is Enjoy that "Fine Art" of Real Estate.
Artist Statement:
I have studied a wide variety of art mediums from pottery to photography- including oils, pastels, pen & ink, print making and stone carvings. At this point in my life, I feel most comfortable with watercolor. I love the free flow of the medium, the non-labored expression I achieve as I capture a mood. There is always an element of surprise when I paint with watercolor and because of this I try not to get too detailed in my work. I find myself happiest with a finished piece if I "leave something out" - a piece of the puzzle that you the viewer need to fill in.
My subject matter is usually landscape, still life or flora. These subjects lend themselves to experimentation with color, mood and expression. This is what I believe makes watercolor fun and interesting both for the artist and the viewer. Florals are still my favorite subject. As an artist I am taken by the perfection of each flower, their range of color and the challenge to recreate this on paper. I try to combine all that I see- shapes, colors, composition to express a total feeling. I work mostly from my photographs, composite studies and still life. A finished piece is usually a combination of all three items. Hopefully, I will never know what is the dominant factor; again that element of surprise. I choose not to be too structured. I open myself to the subject and the moment and paint what I feel. Watercolor lets my impressions come through.
I hope you like what you see. I also hope you see something you have never seen before- a surprise!
